7th - 9th November 2008
10 of our boys attended team section camp, which was organized by the Manawatu Battalion.
The Camp had a great theme, based around the Movie Wall-E and the morals and lessons that the movie teaches.
While out there, we made hand puppets, a "tic-tac-toe" gameboard, spent time on the beach and in the forest.
Mr Lake ran some awesome games and competitions and Mr Best ran a group building challenge.
By all accounts, it was an awesome experience, and we look forward to Team Section Camp 2009!!

Summer
Program
31 March
2008
Once again, we had an awesome Summer Program to take advantage
of the extra daylight.
We had the usual splash at the pool (with a bbq tea to follow), and the super duper Banana Split.
We also had a orienteering night, finding pieces of Hamburger. As well as an easter themed night
where the leaders gave out Easter Eggs and Hot Cross Buns throughout the night.
Company Section News
Drill Competition
July 2008
This Year, the competition
was held by us, at the larger venue, Central Baptist Church..
While in the past, this competition has primarily been the domain of the
7th Palmerston North Company,
Once again, we took 1st place. Well Done 2nd Palmerston north.
Handball
June 2008
Handball is a game, similar
to soccer with one difference – you use your hands to move the ball
instead of your feet.
Handball was held in June at Freyberg High
School. Over the last few years, we have come out on top and this year
was no exception. We split the boys into three teams to represent us in
the competition. The results were 1st
to the
2nd Palmerston North Boys (our
company). Well done...Can anybody beat 2nd Palmy at handball??

Summer Camp is a nine day camp run by the Battalion, at our campsite in Foxton Beach.
This year, there were 26 boys from the
Manawatu, Wellington and Hamilton area, as well as support from officers.
The weather was fairly sunny with a couple of days of drizzle. Some of the activities
included: Abseiling, Tramping (for the older guys),
Shooting, swimming, ten-pin bowling and the infamous Camp Battle.
